Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

 

My name is Mrs. Laura Smith, and I am the Middle School Literacy Specialist! I am also a TSD Middle School Battle of the Books chaperone, and I help coordinate our program. I taught for twelve years before becoming a literacy specialist, and I am currently starting my 12th year at TSD (14th in Deaf Education). I am looking forward to another great year, and I am excited to see all that our scholars accomplish!

 

Throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. As a part of my role I provide Literacy Intervention to students, collaborate with teachers to provide effective literacy in their classrooms, and work closely with students, staff, and families to encourage, see growth, and develop a passion for English and ASL literacy in all aspects of life.
