Personal Information
- I was born hard of hearing and gradually lost most of my hearing up until HS when I became completely deaf. I grew up oral and did not learn sign language until I was a sophomore in HS. I honestly went off to college to learn more about Deaf Culture and more about myself as a Deaf person. I chose Boston University rather than Gallaudet because my original post-secondary aspiration was to become a Pediatrician or something within the medical field, but as I learned about the lack of services available to Deaf children, I realized I could probably make the most impact as a teacher.
- I am married to a phenomenal professional photographer, Michael Samaripa.
- I am a mother to two beautiful children who are the light of my life.
- You will most often find me in front of a computer (I LOVE: graphic design, web design, and everything tech.)
- I love to read and talk about books!
