Chris Hamilton has been the Athletic Director at the Texas School for the Deaf since 2001. Prior to coming to TSD, Chris worked as a Physical Education and Health teacher at the North Carolina School for the Deaf and the California School for the Deaf-Fremont. He was also an Athletic Director at the North Carolina School for the Deaf for one year.
Chris began his coaching career at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf (assisted in V boys basketball for 3 years), the North Carolina School for the Deaf (assisted in V boys basketball for one year then head coach for V boys basketball for one year), the California School for the Deaf –Fremont (head coach for V boys basketball for two years) and the Texas School for the Deaf (head coach for boys basketball since 2001). He was also an assistant coach for the USA men’s basketball team for the DIBF World Deaf Basketball Championships in Guangzhou, China in 2007. In addition to basketball, he was a member of the USA Deaf handball team (participated in the 2001 Deaflympics in Rome, Italy) and coached the USA Deaf handball team in the 2013 Deaflympics in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Chris is currently serving as a board member for National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association (NDIAA), a position he has held since 2007.
Other than athletics, he enjoys spending his time with his wife, Jody, three sons and three dogs.
