This is my fifteenth year working at Texas School for the Deaf. I was the supervisor of admission until I retired two years ago. However, I returned to do some consulting and training in the admission office. Currently I am working as an interim assistant high school principal until someone is hired permanently for this position.
I started off as a teacher aide in Lexington School for the Deaf in New York City in 1977. After I receive my masters in Deaf Education in 1980, I became a High School English Teacher at the same school. In the interim I completed my administrative studies and went on to Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1992 to become the principal, then in 1996 to Central North Carolina School for the Deaf, in Greensboro, N.C. as the education director. While Central North Carolina School for the Deaf was being closed, I received an offer from Texas School for the Deaf to become the Special Education Supervisor in 2000.
Having a variety of experiences in different schools for the deaf has helped me to grow professionally so that I could work in different capacities. In this position, I work with the high school students, the staff and administration. I strive to be an asset to everyone .
