Brief Bio
My name is Cris Nunn, and I am proud to be a born and raised Texan. I received a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from Lamar University, a Bachelor’s in English from the University of Houston, and my Masters in Sign Language Teaching from Gallaudet University. I am certified to teach ASL and Deaf Education, in addition to a supplemental certification in ESL. I also hold a BEI Intermediary certification. I have a true passion for teaching Deaf Culture, history, ASL, interpreting, and watching people understand how rich and complex those areas are. I have taught ASL, Deaf Culture, and Interpreting courses in the post-secondary level for over 10 years. I taught ASL at the secondary level for three years in Dallas ISD, before transitioning to teaching Deaf Education in the same district. I aim to bring those experiences to TSD and share my knowledge with all the students there. I look forward to working together with you as partners to help the students grow culturally and linguistically. Please do contact me at any time by email.
