Welcome to TSD!

Welcome back to Texas School for the Deaf!  My name is Cynthia Michener (Hernandez) and I am excited to be the High School Lead Teacher Assistant.  This will be my second year leading teacher assistants at TSD High School Department, after fifteen years of various experiences and roles from Student Life Department to the Instructional Department.  I am also an TSD alumni, Class of 1991.   

I have a certificate in Photography and an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. Currently, I am an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education.

When I am not working, you will find me antiquing/thrifting, crafting, pickle balling, roller skating, and spending quality time with my family, friends and my two tiny pups.  Oh yes, I love outdoor activities like camping, hiking and standup paddling and the list goes on......  

I am committed to making our school a place where the students feel safe and supported.  I can’t wait to embark on this journey with them and see all the amazing progress the students will make here at TSD!  Go Rangers!
