Health Education
Welcome to the 2024-2025 Academic Year! My name is Casey Hicks, a dedicated health teacher here at Texas School for the Deaf. With a passion for promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles, I'm excited to guide students in understanding and adopting good health practices. Originally from Henderson, NV, I hold a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Texas State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Gallaudet University. My background includes internships in Strength and Conditioning at Arizona State University and Mississippi State University. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer with 10 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. As a former college baseball player combined with my experiences, I am dedicated to bringing a unique perspective on discipline and fitness to my teaching. Outside the classroom, I enjoy working out, going on long runs, and spending time with my wife and dog. I am committed to creating an engaging and supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. Looking forward to a safe and healthy school year!
