Ms. Mizzy Roper

Welcome to my Geometry and Math Models Class!

My name is Margaret Roper, but you can call me Mizzy, which is what my family and friends usually call me. I am thrilled to be teaching Geometry and Math Models this year! It’s going to be a year filled with fun, learning math, and lots of adventures. My goal for students is to expand their knowledge in Geometry, Math Models and apply it in real-life world.  Would you like to know a little more about me?

I was born and raised in Virginia. I graduated from Gallaudet with a B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Currently, I am continuing my training in Deaf Education. Previously, I worked as Recreation Director at SouthWest Collegiate for the Deaf in Big Spring Texas for five years. However, I relocated to Austin 18 years ago to provide my children with an education at TSD. While I come from a hearing family, I have a Deaf brother, and I am also the proud parent of three Deaf children who graduated from TSD.

This year marks my fifth year of teaching, though I have two years of experience as a long-term substitute teacher for the Applied Program. I am looking forward to work with you.

I am looking forward to working with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email, [email protected]
