Angela Laguardia

Hello and welcome to English & Language Arts!

I was lucky enough to grow up in both New Jersey and Florida before heading to Gallaudet University for my Bachelor's in Communication Studies (Class of '97). Soon afterwards, I received my Master's from Rochester Institute of Technology in the Masters of Science in Secondary Education for the Deaf program (MSSE) focusing on English for grades 7-12 (Class of '00).

It's hard for me to believe but I am now starting my 25th year as a High School English Teacher - I'm so lucky that I get to do what I love - reading and writing galore.  I started my educational career as an 10th Grade English teacher in 2000 at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C, then I continued onto Michigan School for the Deaf where I taught English grades 9-12 from 2003-2019.  After moving down to Texas in 2019, I am lucky enough to be going into my 6th year amongst the Rangers here at TSD!

Reading, traveling, and spending time with family are just a few of the things I love to do... but most of all, I love being able to work alongside our high school students here at TSD.  I look forward to seeing what masterpieces our students would create through their reading and writing.

Have a fantastic school year!
Go Rangers!
