About Evan Levenson
Evan Levenson was born to a Deaf family in New Jersey and grew up in New York. Evan is a second-generation Deaf person. He has lived in 9 different states (New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Florida, California and Texas).
For Evan’s career, he started at Bloomfield Hills Eastover Elementary in Michigan as a paraprofessional from 1998 to 2010. He then worked at MSD (Michigan School for the Deaf) from 2007 to 2010 as a teacher Aide/sub teacher. Evan moved down to Florida to work at Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind as a sub-residential instructor from November 2012 to February 2013. He also worked at the National Deaf Academy in Florida as a mental health technician from 2010 to 2012.- 2010 - 2012. Later on, Evan relocated to Austin, Texas. He started his next career path at Texas School for the Deaf in October 2016. Evan initially got hired as a bus monitor for a year, then became a night residential educator for a year. For the past six years and counting, Evan has been a Day Residential Educator in the MS dorms.
Evan loves to live in the Austin area because they have a strong Deaf Community and have many different activities here. Evan also loves to help Deaf students develop a better future as potential leaders for the Deaf community. He specializes in teaching students to play sports such as basketball and wrestling.
Evan is married to his sweet wife, Nadine, and has two Deaf adult kids as well.
