far in person everyone says yes we're all good on Zoom 2 now right all right perfect thank you thank you wait another moment I'm going to copy sign what somebody Shining something's wrong somewhere and while we're waiting I hope you all enjoyed the solar eclipse with everyone able to view it yesterday it was really kind of like an experience just to be dark in the day just for a couple minutes right did anyone enjoy it yeah it was really strange yeah we know the students really enjoyed it was just something different you know is there a question will there be another screen hold on wait hopefully you can see me The Interpreter went too small just to let me know if everyone can see the screen now or share Ashley's on interpreter can still see me good okay I know I'm waiting for everyone to get suggested before we move on okay great perfect I see Christina can see us all right we're good you can see the screen over there on the TV is the agenda that will be working on tonight all right can everyone see the agenda we're going to do a quick introduction of the new members we have some faces that need to be introduced to all these some people are just showing up for specific topics tonight and or review the minutes from February's meeting will have new business will talk about future meeting dates for next year and then try to get to all of the sub committee recommendation as fast as we can get through them all right everyone you can stop your screen sharing now we do have a few new faces are joining us Beth if you don't mind introducing yourself hello everyone my name is Beth Polo I'm the director of operations here at TSB which means the cafeteria transportation in the old facilities building structures cleaning maintenance all that stuff is under my rule alright thank you jerrilynn Hadley already introduced to you Amana if you can Jerry lamb oh hi there my name is Jerry Lynn Winegard and I'm the SEL coordinator by everyone okay I do have a few people on Zoom is Christina there Christina Manley just a High please dietitian all right great nice to see you and also we have somebody else interested fur resume do you want to say hi Chris we can't hear you you're on mute you're muted so you guys good evening against the video but that's okay I am TripAdvisor at the cafeteria and I do work for Misa okay great thank you so much Christopher we also have Emily Robb by the way my name is Emily Robb I support HR and I support all the staff needs benefits and things like that oh great thank you so much I I think that's all of us Ashley Ashley is that all of the new faces on the yes okay we would like to approve the minutes from the last meeting internet is working good so far I get a thumbs up and Steve is still working on the video it looks like over there okay at a previous meeting we talked about the school crisis response next scroll down community relations after that it was CPR and AED training then we had discussions about the best times and dates for next year meetings an inch subcommittee came up and gave a presentation about what they've been working on so far We're Goin Down oh wow okay and that's the end of that meeting the subcommittee's were still doing a moral work are we satisfied and can we approve these and minutes can I have a motion and a second yes Amy said she proposes to accept the minutes as is and Debbie and will Monda second next on the agenda is after approving the minutes we're going to talk about the meeting dates for next year Ashley and I have had some discussions and it seems like people want to move this to a Monday 6:55 and so we talked to Stella who also hosts the DAC and I think it'd be nice if we could take turns with rdac things because they have their meetings on Monday and some of us are both committees so we would like to do one Monday dac1 Mondays sha Shack shac so how do you feel about that I'm going to share the screen again real quick for these meeting dates that are proposed hold on I need to turn off one video okay Helena can you see me alright we're all good okay now I don't have to keep down and looking at about got think I got it all right where we did with those dates that were just up on the screen I should like to know if you all received your invites for the Google Calendar yes I'm getting a lot of guesses right next on the agenda next we're going to be talking about new business and then moving on to the subcommittee reports we would like for each subcommittee to actually take turns and go down the list and then goes just to talk about what are you recommending how are you wrapping up your committees and we know what are we going to do for next year and try to check off your list you know we don't want you to have to say too much but Ashley said I think with Shi and inviting Emily to talk about her part so Emily is going to speak after the shiok so we'll start with that I don't even know where to look anymore Nick is going to come up and speak first okay do you want me to meet her or you want to come up and do that how we going to do this you have your own PowerPoint Nick is going to show his power one while he's up here is that better so they can look directly at the camera trying to get all adjusted all right ready I know it's so awkward cuz we don't know where to look or where the interpreters going to be trying to read this from anyway hi there I just want to give a synopsis for real quick summary of where we are with my committee are our committee on Shi went to school about that it's me Amy maybe I don't know where Amy is there's one more person shirts here yet sassy shirt anyway there are four of us we've been working together on this committee for most of the year you know time flies let's go why so quick and anyway we have decided that what does CDC Center for Disease Control as sad as there's an understanding of you know certain parts of the questions that are allowed up to 30 of them and so there's more like you can do 10 questions but you can go up to 30 and the last time I actually did this survey for the whole school what's 5 15 years ago and we actually did it by paper and Pen it was passed out the old-fashioned way and we decided that we're going to change this to Nu-Way and you know what happened in Spanish to English and a SL which is you know the biggest part of our challenge right now is a good challenge. Where every question will be interpreted into a SL Spanish and English and so that will then be sent out to all the different members of rtfd community and you know example maybe that I'm just kind of making this up it's a question nutrition you know that would then be sent to the cafeteria people who all work running their you know Services there which would include some parents and some students to get their prey active on how we're doing for nutrition here at EST and we have other areas that are kind of some are like counseling and guidance in Psychology or whatever those people will be taking a different part of the survey and answering different questions and you may even get two or three parts and so we actually divided that up and two groups in the survey is going to determine what the shack goal should be focusing on for next year or the next two or three years and May choosing two or three of those top a we will be discussing that in the fall as to what we should be doing for 2024 and 2025 school year and also 25 26 clear so those are coming and this will be as a result of the survey that will be sent out should I be giving an example of this you think are now yes sir come to link and I know it's really hard for you to receive this or read natural questions you know but it's see no just sit actual example here I'm going to walk over to the quest find a large a little bit you're able to choose of these for you can say yes Tuesday is actually doing that we have that are that's partially in place or somewhat look at the answers right there so I need you may not even know the answer these if we have this is here at Tuesday you could say no it's not a place all rights under development parsley and place are fully in place meaning that we do have this specific thing that they're asking about so go back and here's an example tfd provide School breakfast yes if we do provide that so you would select that serving piece to say yes it's in place so go back up to the number two again and then if you see there's an whole video was right below that we've created so there's a link ready to go it seems the question and it's the same question does TSC provide breakfast alright next back to the agenda there was a screen before that there's a question you're asking me I think sisika and thank you to all the members for actually explaining and interpreting all of these questions and a SL was a big help with the upload for that to YouTube I do have somebody that wants to ask a question right here glad I'm sorry well Monda is asking can we embed the video into the question instead of having the click as a link to go you and I think since I was she's advising that I don't wait wait wait yeah we get what's the original question they're asking what was the original question to this number two yeah so you have to click an open all these things that really should just be ready right there on the Google said I haven't actually cook a link to Grover waiting further just be directly there so that we can how can we add the video just on the actual sheet here cannot be changed so you ready Lea High School okay so we just need to just add that a little bit of thinking we could just find that so kind of getting a little excited to have none of the great suggestion though I appreciate you to rely on others for short little PowerPoints so what we hope to do on these dates Monday April 22nd we hope to send out the survey that's the goal to send that out to various people the second date is May 6th so we'll have a the people to respond and then collect all the answers the survey and will send that via email yeah some of them you'll be able to complete all of the all of the other people will be able to delete those and then we'll have several sections of that and then by the Fall such an raizel guided we're going to discuss the most important things that we need to be focusing on I think you stay I think I mess with you side with the four dates sorry for miss one of them so I'll repeat. It's because okay and see those on the PowerPoint okay thank you okay we're having Tech issues on so I can see you just a couple of minutes Phineas Levi question who is those days to do with the star a September 9th will be discussing those and deciding for the meetings for the next year yeah so is there anyway that we can collect the data for that as well okay so the meeting is not really to discuss and and all his everything but I just wanted to see how that would work a way was we can always add more shacknews if we need to write but we do need to take that into consideration and we will talk with Nick a little bit more about that as things go through just want to be clear Emily. We will be at turning it over to Emily are you looking one action not the other direction we're waiting for the TV to restore hey are we good hey so what we'd like to do turn us over to Emily hi I think I'm going to voice and that might be easier with technology here I'd like a short presentation so I think I can probably just talk to her instead of sharing my screen it cuz I'll be easier but I want to say thanks Nick for inviting me it was his idea for me to come talk tonight so I don't even know that this is going on so happy fun you guys but yes so Nick suggested that I provide I'm just a short updated on some things that are happening in the area staff and well-being benefits Wellness All That Jazz so the past couple months I started working with Sgt we have strategical teams on that involved I love different things and one of them has been on for employee engagement so I've been involved in three different goals Sims can I go to get a little summary of things that we've been working on how about going to impact our Stop & Shop so it's supposed to be pretty brief but the person that I want to share is one of the priorities from stt4 was in first medication access in regards to and resources so things like benefit insurance retirement all that kind of stuff most people found out all that information wasn't very accessible which is true that's one thing that we've really been working on so something that my team has started work on isn't internet so like an it'll be like an internal website just for a jar or not just brace yourself just for LPS Vista so it'll be like an internal web sites if you have a t s d email you'll be able to access it and see all of your and see all information connected the benefits HR we asked questions all that kind of stuff so we are really noticing that a lot of people have like the same kind of questions and there just wasn't really our go-to resource for people to give y'all to get those answers our current website isn't like our general HR website but viewable to the public isn't really video friendly so it's one of the problems that we are consistently running into is even though you know all that information is posted there an English that's not really accessible for all of our stocks were able to add videos for all of it so the goal of the internet is the really break things down into categories and have videos that our company a lot of the things so easy for staff to use to all that stuff will just be embedded directly into the internet so just like an example of something that could be on there I know people have tons of questions about our insurance options about we offer or when they can able when they can change their insurance so we'll have like specific Pages dedicated all that kind of stuff so people are able to view all that information so that's one thing that we've been working on so we spoke with HR team about that we had no General Sgt for meeting and then his last week or two weeks ago where West Singleton and I-4 and show that internet a little bit more so people could give some of their feedback so yeah that's when we've been kind of conquering that goal then when is another pair or did they win Ed was fresa Define are perks for our staff purses kind of a general word so just kind of Encompass a lot of different things but some things that were they mention War having a place for all of our like state parks to be advertised having things related to wellness events on Campus Learning opportunities that kind of stuff so well how to use utilize the internet for that as well on the kind of have like a centralized place for all that information so we're looking to have like a wellness calendar Alyssa's like you are as long as the vines and all of that will be essentially house I know right now we do have the glue I like sports activities and stuff like that on campus and all that kind of gets sent out the email so this will be a way for all of us to be centralized some people do have questions about that they'll be able to find all that information and hopefully that'll be a little bit more Community as well so you know more people know what's actually going on around here and I'm the last priority that I've been a part of was improve ASL access to ERS and to reap I'm so this one really kind of overlaps with the first priority because it does is WhatsApp talking about accessibility so once again a lot of us were looking through the HR internet another thing that I've been in the works with is talking with Blue Cross Blue Shield they are administrator for our insurance currently if you are trying to find a provider that knows a SL it isn't you're able to do so on their website you can lick the lock that someone's I think like that friendly or something like that but doesn't actually pop up with any options it's literally zero so I've been in talks with them about changing that they are currently reaching out to within their own at work because they're going to have to ask for additional funding and that kind of stuff so hopefully I will see some changes with the Blue Cross Blue Shield ask back before and after your butt that one might be a little bit longer with someone so you know this kind of kind of out of our hands but you know we can push for it as much as you want but yeah so that's pretty much a 3sgte for priority is on part of neck and a couple of people have been working on that as well but if anyone has any questions about that feel free to let me know but yeah that's pretty much all I have I got a question for you the related to some of the things that you're mentioning like retirement plans or things like that so we want to train our staff a 5-year and 10-year Services different 10 years so is there a way that we can maybe some in person training see what we expect and looking in the future again I mean I feel like I don't know I feel like over the years we just haven't had a lot of information about how to be prepared for long-term FaceTime planning retirement etc etc so is there some way that we can do that maybe with some fried your plans or something like that maybe in person we can have this discussion. Also yes same kind of stuff that we've been talking about as far as like General like wellness and stuff I know that reap provider they do have a lot of additional training hours that we haven't utilized so stuff like that is something that they can provide I'm cuz of course I'm not and I'm not a financial person or retirement counselor I can't give advice on that kind of stuff but yeah. That is extinct kind of thing. I think about so it's on it's on it's on the list for sure but I know that in the past we have had like a financial advisor I'm coming and it was really helpful I forget who is shine out with me but those are the kinds of opportunities that were looking to add a lot of us you know next year's probably when it's going to kind of get the ball rolling a little bit but yeah any kind of sense I'm definitely open thank you and another question I don't know if it's off topic or not but related 2hr the websites not friendly right you said so we'll be nice if we could call a walk-in you know but we don't really know where to go so well for the H&R website movie do we need to schedule appointments that sort of thing but that be something that we could do ya right now it's usually preferred if people do likes email and schedule an appointment on before they come here early because a lot times when people come in with a question it's you know I usually needs a little bit of research beforehand and I'm sure a lot of my co-workers feel the same but yeah that stuff I'm aware of I know that we are in the talks about maybe creating some kind of system are more people could schedule appointment easily like that so I'm probably not the best person my team to answer that because I don't know all the details but I know that's something that people are talking about thank you thanks Emily. okay. We're on a roll for next year I'll send thank you okay if you need to use the bathroom there's an ID on the table that you can pick up and use to go next to removing on a subcommittee reports now I think we're all good the next will be subcommittees tours mental health are you ready Bonnie is going to help explain what's been going on with them hi everyone I'm going to be presenting for Amy once I get this camera here so really we haven't developed any thing new since our last meeting but we do have a list of our goals are mental health the curriculum a mental health crisis resources to be building a bridge to the community crisis preparedness right now we're actually working on trying to summarize all the subcommittee and members to find guidelines that we need for that so that's it for that one from Amy do you like me to go ahead with the Fentanyl okay Barney's about to PowerPoint and showed it last time we do need to make some edits and add some voicing and captioning inside to complete that but we plan to finish up in October next year we will have a parent meeting and I cover because that's apparently fentanyl awareness month and so we would like to set up a meeting for parents and we're on video or just sending out the video in PowerPoint to them personally we would like to present to all of the students as well especially doesn't Middle School I don't know is anyone here representing Elementary do y'all think that you know a 5th grader should see this stuff I don't know how much they already know but somebody says no it hasn't been exposed to that yet so we're going to focus on the Middle School high school kids to see this video and maybe try to find a person who is a high school-age who could come and share their experiences so that they could train our kids middle school and high school and provide a presentation Lino's appear so that you know we get kids listen to kids they get more involved when it's somebody of their age and so will that's what our plan is for October any questions August night thank you hello we have a nose so hard to find one specific rate on for high school emodi mod has a lot of things about self-awareness and perspectives and how to get along with people and stuff like that but you know how it goes for 9th to 12th grade but it's the same content information however it goes more in-depth as the children get older and we're starting with 5 advisory teachers to see if it's the right fit for these students who have various needs and some of them are day students we don't have the IP plans are on the dorms but it seems like Mondays are hard day cuz the lobby bar off but I really met we're going to meet with these five advisory teacher to see if this one credit limits at the same time we're trying to develop other topics that will get on all of the SEL points I'm done very good alright thank you okay everyone good you still with us on video all right moving on we're going to talk about nutrition who's here and tell me I keep looking at the wrong camera we're going to talk about nutrition next also there's a power point that we want to show are you going to do this Ashley are you going to sign or are we going to do this okay can we actually see the PowerPoint yes I can see the part 1 I tell everyone I'm going to go ahead and start in this and then turn it over to see my name is really small. the smallest but just a quick summary of we are the last six or eight weeks I had people come and ask me question after question and it's been very challenging you know as to whether policy is you know I thought okay let's just go to Shack that's me that's an Andrea did have a meeting and discuss some of these burning questions and so we thought we'd bring them here for the committee to discuss okay are we ready the floor is all yours with my support of core come on out here my name is Andrea and I have joined this team I'm going to try to look at the right Cameron hi my name is Beth and I'm just here to support me answer questions as they come up I must begin there's a topic list here that's what we're going to actually try to talk about you these things everybody say this we all good are there slime we have to follow the national school lunch program the nslp this is how we received funding they have a lot of rules as to what food is allowed to be provided how we actually serve the food and they also have rules about compact competitive Mikey now snack machine and stuff like that if the school is selling a very strict rules as well as with the lab do those vending machines and then you should also know that cte's new grab-and-go is not a part Ivar nslp budget it's not included I'm already good with that an exile people keep asking us what does competition food mean we have food and that's really enough your son is selling frozen cookie somewhere as my fundraiser that does not break the NFL Piero's because you can't eat it right away if I decide I'm going to sell Pizza during school hours that would be a violation of those nslp rules because that's considered as a competition food instead of a substitute placement food actually has rules and all of these specific things you have to meet you know percentages of protein and and dietary guidelines you have to have me no specific percentage of vegetables and all that and then we can serve it as a replacement milk when then it doesn't break the NFL pirules and so it's a very okay to throw a lot of rooms to go along with all of these food things somebody's asking about Bakery hold on tired sorry we're going to we're going to repeat what about the bake sales that we have do those count well I originally that's one of the questions were asked we had to do some research went down that is a fundraiser we were technically lemon to do that six times a year for the entire campus doesn't matter what grades are in all that so 6 times a year you don't get to count each separately and do it like another Rule and in the bank sale you know if you meet this as a replacement meal it could be considered as a competition food so let's be careful that's the one has all these rules much better than I do you will have her come up and answer you really I just want to be a little more specific with that competition food is something you eat right away during a breakfast or lunch hour when you're selling pizza and if I bought that instead of eating my cafeteria meal that's a problem if she's selling the pizza at 8 at night though during the game that's not considered competition food the school day is not when the cafeteria is actually serving breakfast and lunch so at night those things are fine dinners not included there's no dinner you know nslp because more schools don't provide dinner at doesn't apply to them as she usually does breakfast and lunch rule thing but if we want to do fundraisers during lunch time then that's considered a competition food because I can be eaten right away our extra be frozen or you can't get it today are you know you're going to have a next week that did something that could be eating right now during your lunch break that's different I just want to be clear on that how is that different from grab-and-go yct have that being Sly and so you're saying you can have these things in common Asian food but it has to just be somewhere else no more stitches not setting up the program for the grab-and-go we're going to have to work it out with CT about the rules for example maybe and I'm just kind of make him stop by not yet but we've they probably can't have this during lunch time while the cafeteria serving or not be saying that to students during lunch time I don't know we're going to have to develop some rules in partnership with them if it's before that's fine any on 30 minutes of breakfast will block out that time then they can sell those meals again after that and so it's it really just depends on what the you know the rules are and how we're going to handle this in the future we have not set up will bring him yet and we know that is not going to be Ron for-profit all of the funds that are received will go back into the program to buy their food and their coffee and the things that they are off if they happen to have money left over that will then be given given back to the school for the general funds it's not a fundraiser all right I'm sorry I just want to clarify again 6 times a year is all for everyone on campus why for a fundraiser okay hold on okay here we go oh and I forgot who's going to be in the screen and Mark and does have his hand up Hoosick happiness question real quick okay I'm just going to stay up here in between so I can do it I can Mark sign for me we have a question on zoom and we have a question. Can we hold were saying okay I want to let you know that they're go why are Elder talking over your hold on Mark along that there's a talking about we can't sell this but the seniors are selling Donuts before breakfast does that count so somebody the rims are they asked a question can the senior cell Donuts before breakfast and I can but not be no during breakfast or lunch right okay we're going to talk a little bit more about this on the next slide let me just get to the next side real quick and then we'll talk about fundraisers in the separate find just a second okay all right hit markers on Zoom has a question somebody's done technology in you from his talking about the grab-and-go lunch can everyone see me interpreter can see you clearly we are all mark down all those who know about this I will have our there will be a second CT teacher hired to teach culinary and the grab-and-go will be developing as a plan and working with Andrea and so how that's going to operate I'm sure there's going to be some rules that will be established that will align with what the school's rules and lunch times are okay any questions so far yeah I'm talking about the non-competitive food so we guarding that competitive Foods just to clarify you noticed want you know they have their things if they want like like the pizza that's part of it right I just want to make sure we understand that but this is best or maybe it's a bad example using the pizza but for example I could you buy a frozen pizza but for the is you can't eat it as a replacement meal for your breakfast or lunch at school you can take it home and eat it for dinner or whatever those are things that you can do the things that you can do you can bake later later on or something the six times a year is only talking about the competitive boots if it is actually sold during the breakfast or lunch. Of time together with those and the kids. their lunch and I'll buy that instead so you know we want to make sure that we're not having like a food truck that's here on campus during those three that they eat instead of their breakfast or lunch so we did pay send it to beloved Apartments we were talking about like salon on 2nd okay so it isn't fair that you know the kids are having like these six times 618 different time so they were talking about on campus and funding for on-campus Foods so what we're trying to do is get it approved for actually 6th * 3 so that each school gets their own fundraising times thank you Lena okay so like instead of 2 for each and is accessing is a question well yeah maybe right so the screening committee has to discuss that start a question from Crystal you're muted one second please oh yeah I was still wanting to buy the little something from Beth wizard definitely trying to describe the guidelines it's difficult as she mention I just want to make a quick little note for all of you if you have any time is too good shape for you don't call us denies the energy that's not allowed at all is there a sleep aids he's about that when they put a seat in one full page talks about fundraising and say uncle as the fundraising to be non-food oriented he can be it's it's a lot of non-food I wanted it can be some fundraising for physical activities he was all kind of stuff but food is actually the ones he trying to get away from because it's sick when we get people to manage it in the school system Miss Beth. We just spoke about six different time do stamps have to be actually chosen at the beach end of the school year so it doesn't trust you no show up at somebody show up until next week I'm doing something at the beginning of the school year to stick says we have to be chosen in order to do this for me raising them just got a couple things so it's a lot three kills and you all think but I Uncle add you to check you know austinisd that 120 school and I would imagine they have a pretty good idea of what they're doing so it's not at least they're so let us know I think what we need to do is make sure that we are getting everyone's questions asked and answered is writing things down I think we're riding down and making notes on the side over there okay so we are we good are we moving our yeah I think the slide go back to the slides oh Ashley is going to send this out and questions also so also we're going to look at the slides again the current policy was last updated in 2018 I'm sorry it's a little bit Frozen for The Interpreter I apologize I couldn't stay Andrew. So sorry to interrupt yeah a little bit Frozen I can see you now Mark says he can see it was frozen for me I apologize starting with that slide again Andrea thank you it's our policy of the been updated since 2018 was last updated been kind of student walls fare wellness and health services last on in 2017 I guess these are traditional guidance guidelines and wellness I'm had several different guidelines different scenarios so I'll give a copy of the handbook you can find that on page 35 okay so burning questions for a group is so with our fundraising hours midnight 30 minutes after school until midnight is when we can sell up to 30 minutes before school join me and add some more to that I guess it's easier to stay and 30 for them it's after midnight and all those things are really to say go ahead and fundraise yes as long as his non-competitive so after school so like more until say midnight so the 8 hours the last 8 hours of the day that's your fundraising hours and then technically midnight until 30 minutes little bit complicated but it depends on the age and you know Elementary School is not allowed to so it's four to midnight for them at all nothing before school I think during school for elementary aged I'm stirring the spot middle school has for breakfast so it's a little bit more flexible just respect then I have it if it's not during this breakfast and lunch hours we have to follow those it's easier just to say those last eight hours of the day that's easy but technically an assault pee it depends on the Age based on the ropes okay so we did have some other questions on a policy about home-baked Goods things like that I don't have that in the policy as far as like dorm Foods the bus doesn't really apply NFL really that's like during breakfast and lunch that a selfie is really looking focusing on. play fight of the drums house because someone was working at an overnight trip to the gym only apply to them the manager for night so she couldn't be here today to join this but there's a big issue with energy drinks we can't believe everything the children eat we can just educate them and scream the parents on what students do you know who we should be eating for health and wellness kind of stuff and so I just wanted to put that out there that Corey was saying that they want a policy set up for that what are my two different things fundraisers increase energy drinks in general but energy drinks should not be you know on campus if they do bring some and students buy them at the store and bring them here there's not much we can control over that but selling them should be banned and specifically a list of things that should not be allowed with a fundraiser okay I'm sorry Christopher has a question it looks like it's mostly if the school DISD is putting out the wellness when this policy should be an old day playlist meaning is it going to make you know any energy drink before 3 but then all the sudden after 3 or 4 because it's residential as they can Duty as he wants to be what's the world what's to be showing good Abbott the students don't take your time or just from morning to fool and that's what the issue I believe stand for is what does Tuesday wants to do in and it started four years ago to stop who is this well for example Jesse is not a providing smart a smart snacks for example a big push back four years ago nobody want exam nobody wanted to know was it was just funny to Kian ice cream for you. That was the deal pretty much so it was more than just a fundraising baby there was much more than just what we feed the kids that don't show a boy first what we feed them at night is the policies that you are wanting to create ricci's you know healthy habits as far as nutrition goals should be an old a situational hold a policy not just because we are supposed to do it on the by first and this is my opinion and at the end of the day as long as we follow during this LP which is why person lunch guideline I'm okay with it if he wants to do something else on the evening that's fine make sure when you do advertise your policy online because parents are supposed to be able to have access to it that you take this into consideration to so you're suggesting the fundraising 6 times a year we wanted to have our own policy we were considering all of the local school districts in the Maria as well and what their practices are and so now talking about fundraising 6 times a year I just feel like I don't know it's going to In conflict with the breakfast and lunch policy as well but really what we want to focus on is how we really want to run our school during meal times so should we start and stop that you all with the 30 minutes before on all of those things rather than having all of those restrictions we want will have these foods like it doesn't have to be on campus visit or anything like that so keeping it after school 6 time thing I know maybe we should just have like no food sales whatsoever and it's not for everyone if we can just sort of agree on that and then the fundraising you know program as opposed to say the public schools in the area you know they pay for their lunch they have those options before us are funding I was a little bit different so I think what we should do resume other fundraising opportunities not related to food he is the victim of an amazing opportunity to push it like you do already like a gift wrapping service like a music stores water bottles have all kind of different type of fundraising and they don't really have to be food I know it's been food for the past 20 years is a bellini School District I'm not even saying it's. he just been like this forever but old-school just we are getting away from it and try to come up with some more evil practical or more healthy solution to fundraise I know that different people have different dimensions about six times a year thing but again it's only during breakfast and lunch from the goats restricted so it doesn't really have a major impact you know like it's a big event we can always discuss that but I think for fundraising after school at cetera it doesn't really impact those dates so remember to for the sale of during the breakfast and lunch periods of time who's responsible for that little sales who is monitoring that food allergies is another thing to think about who is buying what so the cafeteria can I cannot monitor that but isn't there possibility they're only responsible for monitoring of food that they're responsible for and that they're providing for so the fundraiser is another separate thing we have to keep that in mind as well question that says I forgot which organization but there was a food truck that was a fundraiser and maybe if we could just leave in a big organization in charge of that and we could do this because the students in the teachers really benefit from that you know we have to consider that it's only limited to 6 times a year I'd prefer that and somehow being you know. I think he did something but I can't remember I think it was fine to have a food truck during a competition time but maybe we shouldn't be having any sales of food during lunch time at all that's just my view Ashland there's something about requesting the cafeteria to serve cultural food would you like to expand on that and you know maybe that's more motivation or we can have the cafeteria actually serving special celebration Intercultural food stuff like that and that says yes she's talking about I don't know if you remember but it might have been back in February dbso the Black Death student organization did have some meals that they develop themselves and it was a menu that was put together and that was sent to me as the cafeteria director and Chris was involved in the cafeteria manager under my supervision and did you know we approve this event end you can we look at their menu and made some adjustments to it to fit our guidelines and it couldn't be exactly what they wanted us to serve but we did check out some of their options to match the NFL pirules and it wasn't a fundraising event at all but it was just a special events and so if a student or staff wanted to celebrate something cultural still an option we can do that and I'm just submitted a proposed menu and see if we can modify that to match the guidelines yes mine, is just an idea of selling food as a fundraiser in the past sometimes we had food trucks on campus and they donated part of the sales but it was a lunchtime and so you know like it maybe not at lunch time maybe it could be an awards day or some kind of a special day for Rangers you know the dedemit then it could be part of the celebration during lunch time would that look like and that says well that's an example of competition food that's a fundraiser and then we have to decide that at the beginning of the year at that were to be there can actually document that you know and that says we have to pick off 6 of these days at the start of the school year so now we have been very flexible and trying to develop policies and all of those things but we do some flexibility if you are proposing something specific you need to let us know and we can discuss those options to make a decision but really there's a committee who wants to develop more guidelines on how we're going to decide these things you have to Elementary pics 6 days at the beginning of the year than is that going to work probably not people who own businesses and want to celebrate it's always been real hated to you know the community events like that is not just about buying the food but we understand and also understand definitely speak now oh I'm alright go ahead of it was also was that some of you might have to think of is the idea of a thing is definitely to make the most money as possible what to do that at lunch time for students and only student for example many of them don't have any money so at the end of the day is it the best time for you to do you know actually fun ways I don't I don't know you might be like you said little bit of opportunity during a game or during or Lovejoy event adult on side in order to provide maybe more Mo Money I guess understand yes and I also work as a class sponsor and I do see there's benefit to the kids of selling food we teach them soft skills how to deal with customers and how to manage money and so there is no as a teacher some opportunity for us to learn other things and I think it's really nice to have those six times a bit I just wish there was a way where elementary middle and Facebook it all work together possibly Justino six fundraisers were they are all serving you know what separate booths or something to that effect to show the community and reflection on what's going on so I don't want to negative about fundraising and selling food during school hours at all I do see there's some benefit but as everyone says it shouldn't be specifically during those hours I think we can find a balance between us okay and the reason I'm talking Chris Hill. There's a question from the audience and hold on I'm going to let it settle where I missed I don't know what the question is Chris wanted to say something but somebody else has it all right go ahead from the audience I forgot her name sign I don't know I thought I'd known it if it's Amy glad ya Amy your question is the elementary cannot fundraise with food at all right she said that it was after school hours well really basically for the midnight I thought you said no for elementary all day no I was almost falling down but know that okay that's enough all right and then any questions Chris did you want to speak up I don't think I have that I'm silly and I forgot what I wanted to do you know why those guidelines have been put together by the government want the government wants to go sit down to eat healthy food as much as possible if we do not follow those guidelines Savannah Mall doing an update and say you know what we're eating giving you money does night last five years to follow our rules this money is going to be now taken away from you because you're not following those who sow I'll just send you fun to waste on Monday but let's not forget those shoes at the cafeteria or Food Service need more likely he's my dear daddy don't need this money on the go animal in order to provide those meal too so you know it's kind of a catch-22 a little bit okay well mama says last question from what I saw in the PowerPoint and mentioned that they be meeting with us to discussing a fundraising hours and suggestions for future possibilities it's not going to be 4 to midnight obviously it's going to be now and basically we need to put this in writing as to a policy with can be expected I'm happy to meet again and get all this in a iron golem so we'll figure out where we're going the other important thing is is that we might need a couple more meetings to discuss like you know and a handbook and actually says you will approve the fundraiser so and of course it only gets approved through somebody else but we're just trying to keep the fundraisers you know On Target right now because you know all three campuses are trying to do their own thing and so that's making it really difficult so Wilmont and somebody else are supposed to be approving that it's too confusing because we have different stuff going on at night and going on the deck and class organizations are actually trying to set up their own things but Elementary has a fundraiser that goes to Stella it's all these different people approving what's going on and so we need to get this org a little bit more and have more advanced notice of these things okay all right okay so are there any more questions just let us know this is our action plan we're going to do next obviously first we need to update our current policies we haven't done so since 2017 2018 adding you know something into the student organization handbook so they know what they can do rather than everyone having a different idea what's going on and we also need to meet and make a list of what's allowed in the classrooms is there anything else I need to add okay if you talk I need to add anything please feel free to reach out we inviting invite students to show up at these meetings and yes absolutely so while I was doing the voice their things and then we have to keep food allergies are in consideration to we always need to consider that a lot of people with food allergies on campus m nothing to make sure that the elementary has a are limits than the other programs out and so are they don't I have more limits but we need to have make sure they have the same opportunities as the middle school and high school so that they can raise their funds because Elementary does need stuff available for available for them to even though they're at such a young age I just want to mention that if we need to support food allergies and things like that I'm happy to join because I already have a lot of food limitations myself Ashley says I think that's nice to have a two or three minute discussion to see how people feel about home-baked Goods because from my understanding that they have been banned is that correct or no I ruined say no that's not true all made because of allergens are only store-bought what is going on I also want to make sure that I get a post of where everyone is feeling with that requirement all right Chris glad I mean against a decision tsds to make as do they want I mean most coldest we do not most of this school district maybe 99% of them do not allow homemade Goods the only main reason is yes and also being liable get somebody sick or even dying on campus that's as simple as that so if he's willing to do that that's fine I'm just saying that it's a way to I mean just cuz this we don't do it just it's too risky I don't believe there was an actual rule for it because he was parents would want to actually push the issue they probably could but squishiest we don't do that anymore. Just you know is it it's to its Superdry ability issue are we have other comments that's a Christmas talking about technically I have something called Lauren's law Ashley says the parents and the grandparents are permitted to bring cupcakes or homemade things for a birthday that's very odd the very specific law that has been passed but it is where it is most school policy say no you cannot do it but it must be parents understand I'm dating no one they know it's for safety they know children have allergies and that is safer to not do so but technically if a parent wants to push the issue they can fight it however I doubt that you know they're going to say something like that support but it is out there you should be aware of it and those so you would have to be up in UK are we clear but access does everything homemade in the dorms and they obviously their on-campus till they don't count what's up with that and we'll monitor says that's another dorms in the access have the same around but you know the alimentary can go and buy stuff and actually make them you know for sales but it's this is different that access is completely different program where the argument is that acts is doing about during school and after hours the cooking their own foods are all home made what happens then well that's says you should know I'm so sore all adults this does not apply to nsli-y he does not apply to access at all listings for selling their products to other students on campus then we would have to follow up with that and make sure they're following the guidelines but access themselves are allowed to eat whatever they want so just to be clear on that process the homemade or only if it's just made here and then so like maybe the culinary class wants to do something or the dorm they make it there in the kitchen I want to sell homemade and brought in as different to those the things that we need to address yes and the school recommends the procedure obviously we need to discuss that Crystal where you at and also not me not really either I think everybody is ready to go home before before the rains okay awesome discussion about nutrition law thank you all don't forget to take your food just to wrap up the nutrition discussion at seen something you're interested in joining the discussion and we were trying to keep the what are the meaning for another meeting for this year so yes we're going to go ahead and keep that going we will come back to you what date with these recommendations and the procedures and develop these procedures and get those approved first so those procedures need to be approved by that so we have to Devoe Devoe the policy here I'm sorry I got lost we're going to the elt we'll be taking our recommendations a loss so we're going to get caught back up so just to clarify that not the policy but it's the process is we need to procedure that means that some of us will have to get together and develop these procedures and then Matt to elt as a team that will leave that to the team executive leadership team who actually made the final review and decision and approval awesome look at my team for the next meeting of all the rest of that is there someone else before we close and nutrition topic who all wants to be part of that group that discusses the nutrition mark as wanting to see something Mark wants to be involved County MN Debbie also the committee leaders going to reach out to all the people we've got a list of names who are going to join to have further discussions the topic is closed what are the question are coming over there okay song Kristoff and Mark will you turn off your camera please the laptop is saying that battery that's what my laptop that's not the message up there okay go ahead and start to run I just want to review each of the subcommittee's we have that we need some discussion that need to be finished and some that are wrapped up so yes we do need to continue some things next year Shi needs to continue next year yes an action plan Google DIYs and the data recommendations beside yes we do need to continue as I asked process of saying I wanted to make sure we were looking at the schedule and meetings before the end of the year to review the date not carry those over Elena that's the goal is we want to get people together as much as possible for Shi and whoever's on that committee now Nick Jessica Amy Crystal S4 and you're going to work Eugene June and we can actually review it in Juniper working I just don't know you schedules to gym I want to clarify I want to meet with you all not just the four of us but we want you to be able to share a data I just want to do I set up one more meeting before the end of the year focusing on Shi nothing else is that what we want to consider all of us yes and I can mention that we wanted to help that look was the goal not the following are my problem that we were parking at least concern not necessarily just a little committees but all of you all thought to me again in June do you want to meet again in June I'm happy we're getting some gases from the audience Nick is going out coming up here my thought process might match yours so if we go ahead what would you all send this out the results of the survey I'll send that out and then we can meet and discuss that the end of May the results of the survey American things that we need to talk discuss and envision what we have envisioned for fall turn on the phone plan as how we're going to implement all of the things and prioritize what's on there so I think that's what we intend to accomplish we need to discuss September so that results of a survey will tell us exactly what was you going for so when I mean was there I want to know what we're focusing on we're going to do. Zoom we don't have to show up in person can we just get together and review those results rather than just waiting all summer and then it's like oh here it is now with the discussion takes so much longer can we review that get a feeling of what it comes out and then we'll be more prepared to have them everyone's busy I know but let's try to have a meeting before the end of the year now we can run that in fall stop was saying that the committee we could get together and discuss all of that and then have the summary and sugar with the whole Sac committee Thomas ball just a brief comment what about setting up a date at the end of May I know that we've got some Advanced other meetings it's not possibly do anything that last week is guaranteed to be the most busiest week I'm just putting out that June would be much easier and somebody said they won't be here in June let me clarify this Shi committee and specifically meet just the four of us and then we will summarize it for the big group in the fall don't mind getting together one more time so I'm going to propose that Ashley go ahead and set up a time in June if you're available great if you're not enjoy your summer discussions done think it sounds good it's over with a good compromise okay so Ashley we have fentanyl discussion I don't know that we need to continue with smooth that's already kind of throwing yes you do yes because we have to continue the PowerPoint we have to divide the signing of the voice thing English everything we have to have the parents in the students presentation for that we do need to have we do need to set up something talk with them about it or genuine or only in the fall and then wrap it up sleep so why not we continue fentanyl for fall and we can have the captioning in the interpreting it and wrap it up pasta. yeah I think it should be fine we should be able to wrap that assignment with me with was watching over that and then go forward with that and that's out of committee as needed okay some mental yeah we're going to continue with apps dementia with mental health need a discussion with Amy now play me I feel that with mental Halls it's a big chocolate it's too much so we propose that maybe we reduce the little bit more specifics that's a good goal to tackle all of that but you know we're not going to be able to accomplish all of that and get it finished but Andrea as she was discussing with all the various groups take that off so it's quite too much it's too much if we have it all as one lump sum so mental health is already already strong Sgt to and I'm CCP Community counseling counseling program so that's already come out there and other places as well and then at the AL Cricket always have something else where is a, written call now yes uncle house needs more time the 6th grade in Pakistan curriculum yes okay thank you thank you all attention so SEL curriculum he proposed that we close that and this track meeting is already been discussing Sgt to so we can monitor them then we can monitor through that awesome Ferrari focus on those things you think Mom's up I'll scream okay so let's get rid of SEO and clothes that will move get out of the way nutrition is going to continue on with a big involvement for minors we know that we're going to continue on a lot of these things now so we have four of our subcommittees that are just going to keep knowing and that's going to become our goal for next year to monitor them all but Shi is going to find three areas which is going to be even more August areas can Shack actually monitor and manage seven areas at the same time okay go ahead sign maybe after this meeting ever Shi comes back we can reevaluate our subcommittee priorities but for now those are the ones we feel like we need to continue with some work in some way another common Ashley says I have a strong feeling that some of the results from the Shi will be part of our next year five-year strategic plan because this is our fifth year already and we've already started discussing a lot of these things because you know some of them are not going to be able to be addressed immediately however Becca says I do want to mention that I understand were Amy's coming from the goal is it were supposed to take care of these things and check them off and not just keep growing the list we will drown quickly with that what we really need and hope that's going to happen is all recommendations ideas that we met will be put in the practice you know almost automatically for example every year in October that know should be an automatic program it's not something that we're going to be responsible we create our own ever again we're going to transfer this responsibility to somebody and so that's the goal of Shaq is we need to figure out what's needed we build it and then we hand it off and it kind of runs itself I'm so directions to be the same once we set up the guidelines of the rules and we research all that we give our ideas and recommendations once that's done it work it's over it's complete and so for next year I'm going to I was that just you know you can tell me now if you want to do this but I'm proposing that we be a little more strict with our time meaning that we're going to do Fentanyl for sure I nutrition in the fall and that's it it's a wrap them up in one semester and get it moving so that'll help push us rather than I was just getting stuck and keeping adding and needing more time and getting so far behind okay I want to play with us and we got some agreement I think it's nice that nutrition should be done before the fall because it needs to go in the handbook they can get a policy set up in the principles can all share that with the parents everyone needs to know what's expected before the year begins right well that's and you know for fundraising to Let's clarify this so that they know that we have these rolls everybody's been arguing about all the little stuff and how you been what's being sold even related to food okay maybe I'm meeting is necessary for fhi and nutrition and then we'll close those out at the end of June be done with it I know I'm getting a lot of times up here okay question so let's take a you know some dates of when we should have these meetings well we got that we were looking at the first week of June okay I want to see when can people meet we passed we done with and I'm going to continue mental health continuum and we might combine as a giant mental health together and two one go we're just going to see if that'll work and an SEL curriculum is closed I'm so that's good then what was the fifth one what was left out of the Fentanyl I know it's going to be one semester and I won't be done with that all right I'm going to agree to that I'm going to look at that picture at first and have them probably take priority so that they can set the goals for the next year all right did I miss anything anyone selling anything else no no date anyone have any dates they want to throw out there for meetings June 4th how's that sound resume r a l e Bells by Berlin Zoo man in person hold on June 4th cannot do that I'm not available I was going to June 11th how about June 11th at SurveyMonkey see they both cuz no one's going to be able to be in if she's not available on June 11th now 18th okay are you available on the 18th alright Day evening what time are we doing this they evening what's a traditional must keep it on Tuesday night so sorry interpreters ever quit is going all over the place with everything they're saying June 18th I'm going to put it down for June 19th now interpreter campsie get moving all right let's just try to narrow it down to a specific date so we can do a little at Amy says I propose we close this meeting second we got second all over there now we're not done yet we like you okay and chat someone did say they propose a meeting on Monday because we did say meetings and Mondays are going to start for next year at 5 p.m. can we do June 3rd and quicker and chat we've got a proposal from Crystal all right at least we're going to do a survey and we have sent out by SurveyMonkey for the date and time when we can meet and we will follow the majority of answers I know it's hard to catch everybody not everybody is going to be available to do this but we will try our best and we've already got to propose on to iron because of meeting thank you for interpreting for us tonight and copy signing for us I hope I will see you all again if not thank you alright thanks interpreters
