Employees, including student workers, parents, vendors, and anyone else who interacts with an institution or program subject to Title IX are covered by the law. Anyone who has been a victim of sex discrimination or sexual violence perpetrated by someone affiliated with the school or on the school’s grounds can file a complaint with Title IX Coordinator or directly with the Office of Civil Rights of the Department of Education
TSD Title IX Compliance Notice
In accordance with the 2020 Title IX Regulations (34 CFR Part 106.8), Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) provides this notice regarding its nondiscrimination policy and grievance procedures to ensure the prompt and equitable resolution of complaints related to sex discrimination. Under Title IX, TSD does not—and is prohibited from—discriminating on the basis of sex in its educational programs, activities, or employment practices.
TSD has appointed Julie Dodd, Director of Human Resources, as the Title IX Coordinator to address employee concerns related to sex discrimination, including but not limited to sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and gender-based harassment.
Reporting Information:
Individuals may report incidents of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, at any time using one of the following methods:

During TSD’s business hours, in-person reports are also accepted.

Response to Complaints:
Upon receiving any allegations of sex-based harassment, the Title IX Coordinator will promptly respond in accordance with TSD board policies FFH and DIA.
