Application
TSD offers an online employment application process using the TalentEd Recruit & Hire software. It will track your application and alert you via e-mail regarding your application status. You will be able to update your account using a password-protected login process. Criminal History Authorization
The Texas School for the Deaf conducts criminal history background checks for applicants selected for employment. As a part of the hiring process, all selected applicants will be required to complete a Criminal History Authorization form and be fingerprinted solely for the purpose of obtaining consumer information, including criminal history. Any information from consumer reports will be handled in compliance with all applicable federal and state equal employment opportunity laws.
Selective Service Requirement
As of September 1, 1999, an agency in any branch of state government may not hire a person as an employee if the person is of the age (18-25) and gender (male), that would require a person residing in the U.S. to register with the selective service system, unless the person presents proof of the person’s registration with the selective service system as required by federal law or proof of exemption from registration with the selective service.
