Dear TSD Families,
Austin Independent School District (AISD) will have a two-hour delayed opening tomorrow and TSD follows AISD. TSD buses will pick up two hours later than scheduled. If your child does not ride a TSD bus, check with your local school district about their school closing or delays.
Although we are experiencing weather challenges here in the Austin area, we know it is nothing compared to what many of our families are experiencing in places south of Austin. Our hearts go out to each of you and we hope you have found shelter and are safe.
Obviously, a great many of you were not able to make it here today for registration. Don’t worry about that. Whenever you can safely get your dorm students or day students to Austin, we will register them at that time. Please stay in communication with our residential office so we know when to expect you.
For families arriving Monday and Tuesday, the 28th and 29th we will have a “mini registration” process in the Ford/CTE Multipurpose Room from 10:00 am until 2:00 PM. Beyond that date, we will register students in our Admissions Building as they return. If there are other changes we will post those on our TSD website at ww.tsd.state.tx.us
I want to personally thank the many staff that came to work this weekend to welcome our new families and to register those who were able to travel to Austin.
We need to be prepared for an interesting first week of school with the current weather situation. I know I can count on all of you to be Stronger Together.

Queridas familias de TSD, Referente al: Huracán Harvey
El Distrito Escolar Independiente de Austin (AISD, por sus siglas en Inglés) abrirá dos horas más tarde y TSD seguirá a AISD. Los autobuses de TSD recogerán dos horas más tarde de lo programado. Si su hijo no viaja en un autobús de TSD, consulte con su distrito escolar local sobre el cierre de su escuela o retrasos.
Aunque estamos teniendo desafíos con el tiempo aquí en el área de Austin, sabemos que no es nada comparado a lo que muchas de nuestras familias están pasando en los lugares al sur de Austin. Nuestros corazones están con ustedes y esperamos que hayan encontrado refugio y estén seguros.
Obviamente, muchos de ustedes no pudieron llegar aquí el día de hoy para inscribirse. No se preocupen por eso. Cuando pueda traer a sus estudiantes al dormitorio o estudiantes de día a Austin con seguridad, los inscribiremos en ese momento. Por favor, manténgase en comunicación con nuestra oficina residencial para saber cuándo van a llegar.
Para las familias que lleguen el lunes y martes, 28 y 29 tendremos un proceso de "mini inscripción" en el Salón Multiusos Ford / CTE de 10:00 am a 2:00 pm. Después de esa fecha, a medida que regresen inscribiremos a los estudiantes en nuestro Edificio de Admisiones. Si hay otros cambios, los publicaremos en nuestro sitio web en ww.tsd.state.tx.us
Quiero agradecer personalmente al gran personal que vino a trabajar este fin de semana para dar la bienvenida a nuestras nuevas familias y para inscribir a quienes pudieron viajar a Austin.
