HERE COMES SIGNING SANTA CLAUS
BARTON CREEK SQUARE – December 8, 2014Austin, Texas – December 8, 2014 Santa will arrive at Barton Creek Square Mall, ready to check wish lists from deaf and hard of hearing students from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
That’s right. Santa knows many languages, including American Sign Language (ASL).
Signing Santa Claus - sponsored annually thanks to Barton Creek Square Mall - gives area children who use ASL to communicate, the opportunity to relay their holiday wishes directly to Santa, and on to the North Pole.
Volunteers and students from the Austin Optimists Clubs and Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) will provide each child with a free photo on Santa’s lap and a small treat from his workshop, while TSD students will perform to holiday music in American Sign Language.
