Wizard of Oz
Austin, Texas – April 24, 2025 – The Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) is proud to announce the upcoming stage production of Wizard of Oz, directed by TSD alumnus and actor, Russell Harvard.
A graduate of TSD (1999), Harvard brings a wealth of stage and screen experience back to his alma mater, where he is now leading the student production.
Having built a notable career on stage and on-screen, Harvard’s film debut was in Paul Thomas Anderson’s, There Will Be Blood (2007), earning recognition for his role as H.W. In television, he is known for the portrayal of Mr. Wrench in FX’s acclaimed series, Fargo. His stage credits include Broadway productions King Lear and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Now returning to TSD, Harvard is dedicated to inspire and mentor the next generation of performers. In this production of The Wizard of Oz, he leads a talented cast of middle school and high school students, bringing to life Dorothy’s timeless journey through the magical land of Oz.
“Hang on to get swept away by the cyclone in this bold reimagining of Wizard of Oz!” said Russell Harvard.
