Principal's Roundtable (PRT)

TSD High School Hosts National Principal's Roundtable

This January, during the Clerc Classic, the High School and Career & Technical Education (CTE) administration team at Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) will proudly host the Principal's Roundtable. This prestigious event brings together nearly 20 Deaf schools and programs nationwide.

This annual gathering is a unique opportunity for school leaders, administrators, and educators to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas to enhance Deaf education nationwide. Initially conceived as a part of the Clerc Classic in 2017, the Principal's Roundtable has grown into a vital forum for fostering innovation, sharing resources, and building relationships among education leaders.

This year, the event is divided into two key strands: Academic and Career/Transition. The Academic strand will focus on sharing innovative teaching practices and strategies for classroom success, while the Career/Transition strand will explore ways to better prepare students for life beyond school. Each session features expert presentations and interactive discussions, ensuring participants leave with actionable insights.

HS Principal Karl Hummel, CTE Supervisor Megan Scarboro, HS Assistant Principal Lisa Ewan, and CTE Assistant Principal Christina Harucki lead this event. This initiative underscores TSD’s commitment to advancing excellence in education. Supported by partners such as Gallaudet University and the Texas School for the Deaf Athletic Association (TSDAA), the Principal's Roundtable is a powerful step forward in shaping the future of Deaf education.

We’re thrilled to host this exceptional event and look forward to its impact on our students, staff, and community!
