International Studies

International Studies students traveled to Vietnam for 2 weeks. During their travels, they learned about Vietnam’s culture, visited historical sites, and ate their delicious cuisine. They even had the chance to visit Deaf schools in Vietnam!  While they were busy wandering around Vietnam, they also produced vlogs and wrote blogs for each day they spent there! Check it out: International Studies Trip to Vietnam

Academic Bowl Team

Our 2023-2024 Academic Bowl Team excelled at the Arkansas School for the Deaf, securing second place in the midwest region! They maintained an undefeated record until the Championship game, where they faced a skilled team from Indiana School for the Deaf in an intense match. Our team consisted of three, first-year players, making this achievement even more impressive! Our junior and seasoned player, Jeanique D., received one of the six prestigious All-Star Player awards. This recognition is a testament to her knowledge, sportsmanship, leadership, and attitude as a player. We couldn’t be prouder of our entire team! Now the Academic Bowl participants are preparing for the National Competition at Gallaudet University that is scheduled for April 18-22!

Deaf Culinary Bowl 2024

TSD culinary students attended the Deaf Culinary Bowl 2024 in Riverside, CA where they competed against 5 schools for the Deaf. The culinary students had a chance to tour several kitchens at Knott’s Berry Farm to see firsthand how the culinary world operates behind the scenes in order to serve hundreds of people daily. TSD came in fourth place with two completed dishes (time ran out for the main entree). They received recognition for their cleanliness, organization, and teamwork. Congratulations, Ranger Chefs!
