Mary's journey at TSD is a testament to the unpredictability of life's trajectory. Initially, she hadn't envisioned herself working at TSD, but the universe intervened just before her college graduation, leading her to the school here. She began her career in 1989 as a Middle School TA. Mary's flexibility and dedication became apparent when she seamlessly transitioned to teaching High School, stepping in for a departing teacher at the last minute. Now, in her remarkable 34th year at TSD, Mary has grown firm roots. Her devotion to educating students on health matters extends beyond the classroom; she actively promotes healthy behaviors and advocates for wise choices. Mary practices what she preaches in her personal life, engaging in outdoor activities like hiking with her deaf Blue Heeler. Beyond her teaching role, she expresses her creativity through cooking and crafting jewelry, showcasing and selling her creations at the Deaf Artisan Market Day. Mary's adventurous spirit is further highlighted by her extensive travels, having visited 26 countries with no intention of slowing down and she's not done yet!
