Announcement about Red Ribbon Week!

Hello Students and Families,

Texas School for the Deaf has a goal to enhance our students' happiness, health, and well-being by highlighting a healthy lifestyle of being drug-free by hosting Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon activities will occur during advisory class the week of 10/23/2023 - 10/31/2023. However, the exciting contests will start on October 3rd, allowing students more time to participate.

Schedule for Red Ribbon Week:

Monday, 10/23: School Day 1 – School will be closed that day.

Tuesday 10/24: School Day 2 – A video explaining Red Ribbon Week and how to stay drug free will air on TVs in the high school and CTE buildings. The video will feature our TSD Peer Advisory Leadership (PAL) students.

We want to emphasize that there are alternatives to drug use and various ways to celebrate our uniqueness. Another video created by our PAL students will help us make this point to students. A large poster will also be in the cafeteria and atrium which is available for students to make a pledge against drugs during lunchtime and class transitions.
