Celebrating Deaf Awareness Week 2022
When Artistry and Sign Language Converge: ASL Expressions International

September 21, 2022 - Austin, Texas – The Statewide Outreach Center (SOC) and Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) invite you to celebrate Deaf Awareness Week 2022.
This evening, 6-7:00 p.m. CST, at Austin’s Central Public Library, ASL Expressions – features an exciting lineup of performers showcasing their unique artistry incorporating the beauty of sign language through, stories, songs and dance, which are a rich part of Deaf culture and history.
A collection of virtual and live performances superbly curated by the SOC, this year ASL Expressions’ International spotlights local, national and aspiring artists, raising awareness of our vibrant and talented, global Deaf community.
This year, Deaf Awareness Week, also known as International Week of the Deaf, is September 18-24, 2022.
Deaf Awareness Week is celebrated annually by the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), its national associations and affiliates globally during the last full week of September to commemorate the same month the first World Congress of the WFD was held.
