Youth Retreat and 2012 NCHDHH Conference

The Latino Deaf Youth Leadership Pre-Conference is the leading national program designed for Junior and Senior deaf and hard of hearing Latino high school participants. We have successfully hosted youth pre-conferences at past conferences.

The third National Conference will be held in Austin, Texas during the weekend of September 13, 2012. The Latino Deaf Youth Leadership Pre-Conference will be held two days prior to the conference on Wednesday, September 12, and Thursday, September 13.

The mission of Latino Deaf Youth Leadership Pre-Conference is to educate and strengthen the inner qualities and character (with emphasis on beliefs, confidence, pride and responsibility) of Latino Deaf and hard of hearing participants who will evolve into future advocates for themselves and their communities.

The Latino Deaf Youth Leadership Pre-Conference will provide a warm and caring environment with a diverse pool of Latino Deaf and hard of hearing professionals who will serve as role models for teaching and engaging participants in leadership activities and personal growth workshops thus empowering them to take a sense of responsibility, passion, commitment to future advocacy in their communities and beyond.
